Monday Food Bank

The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank (IFCB) serves an average of 450 households each week thanks to the amazing team of volunteers who come in each day to make that possible. Volunteers are needed to help process food deliveries, sort donations, organize and stock foods, portion bulk foods, and assist clients during grocery hours.

The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank (IFCB) uses a self select grocery model so families can select the foods they need in a space that looks and feels like a  grocery store. The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank places a special emphasis on providing access to fresh, local produce, and healthier food options. We receive fresh food donations from local grocery partners, community gardens, private gardens, farmers markets, fruit gleaning projects, and other community harvest partners. We focus on providing an excellent shopping experience and the best customer service possible.

Monday Morning   9 am - 1:15 pm

Monday Afternoon   1:30 pm - 4 pm

Volunteer Tasks May Include:

• Helping unload delivery trucks, weighing and recording food donation
• Date checking foods and checking recall lists
• Sorting, washing and portioning produce
• Restocking grocery areas
• Portioning bulk foods
• Assisting clients
• Sanitizing food surfaces and general cleaning tasks
• Organizing inventory
• Grocery cart duty (helping shoppers get groceries to their cars and returning carts)

Safety Tips

• Please notify a staff member if you have any lifting restrictions. Boxes/crates generally weigh 30-60 lbs.
• Do not try to lift more than you know that you can lift.
• Lift with a  buddy and ask for assistance if something looks like it might be too heavy for you.
• Please alert a staff member if you have any food allergies that may prevent you from portioning or handling foods.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate. Other volunteer opportunties are available for teens under 16. For more details please check the hyperlinked list on our volunteer page.
