Join us for IFCB Family Weekends- 13-15 yrs. old
The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank has been looking for ways to get younger volunteers involved at the food bank and has introduced IFCB Family Weekends to engage teens and parents in the fight against food insecurity. Family Weekends are offered on the First Saturday of every month and are are for teens 13-15 years old. Teens under 16 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. Parents and teens both need reserve their shifts in advance since volunteer group sizes are small for these events.
Why it matters:
The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank currently serves somewhere between 400 and 450 local households per week by providing groceries, clothing, diapers, toys, books, home goods, personal care items and much, much more. All of this is made possible by volunteers who donate their time. Last year IFCB received more than 1 million pounds of food. The work that goes into collecting, transporting, sorting and processing food happens because volunteers show up. Every bit of care and kindness that you put into volunteerism matters and makes a difference in our mission to create a hunger free community.
