Renee Zimmerman


Renee possesses over 25 years’ experience in strategic community relations and project management in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.  

Currently, Renee oversees community engagement strategies for several major projects as a Community Project Manager for Puget Sound Energy.

Her nonprofit leadership experience includes serving as an Interim Executive Director for Eastside Friends of Seniors, and Executive Director for Eastside Baby Corner as well as Issaquah Highlands Council.  Previous to working in the nonprofit sector, Renee managed public involvement and community engagement  strategies for 12 years at the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Renee received her MBA and MPA from City University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communication Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and is a graduate of Leadership Eastside’s 2-year Community Leadership Enrichment Program.

As an Issaquah Highlands resident since 2000, Renee loves our Issaquah community and her passion for community spills out through all her volunteer work and is one of the many reasons why she agreed to join the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank Board of Directors.  

She is also very involved with Boy Scouts, serving in various leadership capacities over the last 8 years, including chairing Eagle Board of Reviews, serving as a Merit Badge Counselor, and sitting on the leadership team for Troop 636.  

She is married to Erick and they have 2 teenage children and an adorable Shih Tzu puppy.
