Groceries to Go (G2G)  is a home delivery program designed for seniors and families who can't get to the food bank during service hours due to health, mobility, employment or transportation obstacles. Groceries to Go started as a small pilot program several years ago and has quickly expanded to serve approximately 60 households in the Issaquah school district.

Groceries to Go volunteers work as "personal shoppers" for families who can't shop for themselves. Our customers place weekly or recurring grocery orders and volunteers fill orders based on customer preferences and current food bank inventory. G2G is sort of like the food bank version of Amazon Fresh.

Ways To Get Involved:

  • Food Packers (at IFCB)
    • Responsible for packing items listed in a clients "shopping list" and preparing for delivery.
    • Checking order forms to determine food preferences, allergies and dietary restrictions noted by customer
  • Drivers (Home delivery)
    • Responsible for delivering the shopping list to clients. 
    • Providing excellent customer service as you interact with clients.

When:
Monday G2G Team  12 pm - 3 pm

Thursday G2G Team -11 am - 2 pm

Meat Packing- 8 am - 10,  Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

How to sign up:
Please email Erin to communicate your interest and availability. (Minimum 2 times per month required)

General Safety Tips

  • Please wear closed-toe shoes. This provides a little extra protection in case you drop a can on your foot.
  • Please notify a staff member if you have any lifting restrictions so we can prevent injuries.
  • Lift with a  buddy and ask for assistance if something looks like it might be too heavy for you.
  • Please alert a staff member if you have any food allergies that may prevent you from handling certain types of foods.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate.
