New Volunteer Orientation

New Volunteer Orientation

Welcome!

The Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank (IFCB) serves an average of 400 families each week and would not be able to do so without the dedicated team of volunteers who come in each day to make it happen.

The IFCB team wishes you a warm welcome and invites you to attend a volunteer orientation to get started. Orientations are required for all new volunteers and orientations generally take about 30 minutes to cover all of the necessary information.

What we cover during the orientation:
  • A tour of the food and clothing bank
  • Who we serve and how we serve (Mission, Vision & Values)
  • A brief overview of IFCB programs and upcoming special events
  • Volunteer guidelines and expectations
  • Customer service overview and expectations
  • How to register for volunteer shifts and how to drop shifts if something comes up
  • How to show up prepared

If you would like a hands on tutorial to learn how to use the volunteer dashboard, please plan to stay an additional 15-20 minutes so a staff member can assist you.

Fast Facts:

Volunteer orientations are currently offered three times each week. Orientations are not held on federal holidays.

When: Mondays, 4-4:30 pm, & Fridays, 9-9:30 am & 1-1:30 pm

Where to meet: The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank - 179 1st Ave. SE, Issaquah, WA 98027

**Please ring the doorbell when you arrive & sign-in. Orientations start on the hour.***

Where to park: Free public parking is available in the lot directly across the street from the food bank, on the other side of the green space dividing the two parking lots and by the community center. Free street parking is also available alongside the food bank. We kindly ask that volunteers avoid parking in the side ally (which we use for deliveries) or in parking spaces designated for Spa Chi and other businesses.

Thank you! IFCB runs on "volunteer power" and we couldn't do what we do without you.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact megan@issaquahfoodbank.org or call 425-392-4123, ext. 10.
