Each year the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce sponsors this event to give special recognition to members of our community who serve Issaquah with distinction, honoring volunteers, students, and high achievers.
The 2021 Community Awards was held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 and many local individuals and organizations were celebrated for their role in making our community a healthier, stronger, and better place to live.
This award was created out of a desire to recognize the "few who rose to the top in a remarkable and often courageous manner during the unprecedented, life-altering events of 2020".
We are extremely proud of our brave, dedicated, hard-working volunteers and staff who have and continue to do everything it takes to ensure that vitally needed food and basic needs resources get into the hands of those who need it. During the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank's COVID-19 response in 2020, 480 different people volunteered 7,675 hours, sometimes out in the hot sun or pouring rain.
This work is truly a community effort and the events of 2020 and ongoing emergency operations are a perfect example of that!
